This useful document has been produced by the co-leaders of the WorkPackage 5 in order to facilitate Orphacodes implementation in European countries.
In this document, general rules for routine coding with Orphacodes are presented and guidelines are given in order to achieve internationally standardized data collection. Given the different data collection settings and purposes, additional rules and guidelines might be needed. The guidelines are specified throughout the document along with the explanation forwhy each guideline is given. At the end of this document a summary of the guidelines is given for easy reference and implementation.
